JUSTIN FOX

As I was growing up in Lancaster County, I always dreamed about farming. When the opportunity presented a 72-acre farm in Union County, it couldn’t be turned down. Unfortunately, there was no income on the property besides what the tillable acreage offered. With a little research, poultry became option number one. Not only was the building a small footprint on the farm, it was also a quick turnabout to get the income rolling.

Organic Layers also fits nicely with the certified organic farm, which is currently being used for crop farming and grazing livestock as well. Laying hens and egg production also enables me to work at home, which is quite nice after being in construction previously.

With a surplus of eggs on the market right now, downtime is no fun, but with a little grit and of course BJE Poultry at my back, things keep moving forward.
